Callsign and Ooredoo Join Forces to Protect Qatar from Financial Crime

Press Release
Digital Identity
Fraud Prevention
Digital DNA
Partnership Annoucement

Doha, Qatar — 29 June 2026

Callsign, the leading digital identity and fraud prevention company, today announces a strategic partnership with Ooredoo, Qatar's largest mobile operator, to deliver next-generation fraud protection and seamless authentication to organisations across the country. The collaboration will see Callsign's Digital DNA technology made available to Qatari banks, airlines, healthcare providers, and government agencies through Ooredoo's established enterprise relationships.

The risk of financial crime is increasing across the GCC region. The World Economic Forum has highlighted that economic growth across the Gulf is putting organisations and people at increasing risk, while a 2025 KPMG study found that the MENA region remains a prime target for corporate fraud[1,2]. Account takeover and sophisticated scams are becoming more frequent and harder to detect, a trend made worse by the rapid rise of Agentic AI, which is enabling a new generation of automated attacks. Callsign's AI and machine learning-powered Digital DNA is built to address both today's threats and the attacks of tomorrow, providing a layer of protection that evolves as the threat landscape does.

"Qatar is at the forefront of digital transformation, and with that comes a responsibility to protect citizens and organisations from increasingly sophisticated fraud. We are thrilled to work with Ooredoo, a trusted pillar of Qatar's digital infrastructure, to bring Callsign Digital DNA to the organisations and people who need it most. Together, we are committed to ensuring Qatar's 2030 vision for Social Development and build a secure and inclusive society."

- Senan Moloney, Chief Technology Officer, Callsign

Beyond fraud, the partnership addresses a real shift happening in how organisations across Qatar and the wider GCC authenticate their customers. Businesses are moving away from SMS one-time passcodes (OTP), and the data backs this up: according to Cisco's Duo Trusted Access Report, SMS-based authentication has fallen to an all-time low of 4.9%, down 22% year-on-year[3}. The reasons are well understood: SMS OTP is vulnerable to interception and SIM-swap attacks, and customers find it cumbersome. Callsign Digital DNA is a natural replacement, passively verifying customer identity through behavioural and device signals. It removes the friction of OTP while delivering stronger security.

"A defining strength of the Callsign platform is that it does not ask organisations to choose between authentication and fraud prevention. Rather than deploying separate point solutions, organisations accessing Digital DNA through Ooredoo get a single, integrated capability that handles both. This reduces complexity, lowers total cost of ownership, and delivers a consistent, low-friction experience for end users across every digital touchpoint "At Ooredoo, we drive Qatar's digital transformation by empowering organisations across the nation to navigate technological change with confidence. As digital services become central to every aspect of business and daily life, trust and security must evolve just as quickly. Our partnership with Callsign strengthens this foundation, combining advanced authentication and fraud prevention capabilities with our world-class digital infrastructure. Through this partnership, we are enabling Qatar's enterprises to accelerate their digital journeys securely and build a digital economy where innovation and trust go hand in hand.”

- Shk. Abdulaziz bin Fahad Al Thani, Senior Director Business Accounts, Ooredoo Qatar

Callsign Digital DNA analyses thousands of signals, spanning device characteristics, network behaviour, and interaction patterns, to build a unique, continuously evolving digital identity for each user. This makes it exceptionally difficult for fraudsters to impersonate legitimate customers, while remaining completely invisible to genuine users going about their digital lives. With the rise of Agentic AI-driven fraud, the platform's machine learning models are continuously trained on emerging attack patterns, so protection keeps pace with the threat environment.

The partnership is effective immediately, with Callsign and Ooredoo already working with a pipeline of Qatari organisations across the banking, government, and healthcare sectors to begin deployments in the coming months.
